Design and Sketch
The first step in the CNC parts order process is to create a design and sketch of the part required. This is usually done by a skilled designer or engineer using specialized CAD software. The design will include detailed specifications such as dimensions, materials, tolerances, and other relevant information.
CAM Programming
Once the design is completed, it’s transferred to the computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. This software generates the tool paths and G-code required to control the CNC machine. CAM programming is a critical step in the process, as it determines the accuracy and quality of the final part.
Material Preparation
Next, the material required for the part is selected and prepared. This includes cutting the material to the correct size and shape, as well as any additional processing required such as heat treatment or surface finishing.
CNC Machining
With the design, CAM programming, and material preparation complete, the part can now be CNC machined. The CNC machine is set up with the appropriate tooling, and the part is machined according to the G-code generated in the CAM programming stage. This process can take several hours or even days, depending on the complexity of the part and the size of the order.
Inspection
Once the CNC machining is complete, the part undergoes a thorough inspection process. This includes both visual and dimensional inspections to ensure the part meets the required specifications. Any defects or deviations are identified and addressed at this stage.
Packaging and Shipping
With the part inspected and approved, it’s then packaged and shipped to the customer. This involves careful packaging to ensure the part is protected during transportation, as well as accurate labeling and documentation to ensure the part arrives at the correct location.
Overall, the CNC parts order process is a complex and multi-step process that requires skilled designers, engineers, and machinists to produce high-quality and accurate parts. At JFG Racing, we take great pride in our CNC parts order process, and we are committed to delivering exceptional results for our customers.
